How to Make Money on Fiverr ($1k in my first 30 days!)

I just saw a video on TikTok (don’t judge me) where someone said they were going to earn over $300,000 on Fiverr this year. At first, I didn’t think it was true. Years ago, I recalled attempting to earn money on Fiverr, but it didn’t seem possible. I thought it was time to attempt it myself after seeing the evidence in a couple more of her TikToks.

We’ve had to adjust how we generate money because we’ve made the decision to live in a travel trailer full-time so that we may travel with our family. In the past, as an entrepreneurial family, a significant portion of our revenue came from reselling on websites like Poshmark and Ebay. However, downsizing to live in an RV prevented us from having the goods we would have otherwise.

I thus began working on alternative sources of income, and after seeing that Fiverr is a great place to earn money, I made the decision to give it a go. I was astonished to learn that I had made over $1,000 in the first 30 days after placing my first transaction! I now want to demonstrate how you may earn money on Fiverr as well.

Fiverr: What is it?

Fiverr describes itself as a “freelance services marketplace,” which essentially implies that it is a website where independent contractors may list their skills. There are two reasons why people go to Fiverr: either to purchase or sell goods or services.

You were only permitted to charge $5 for your goods or services when Fiverr first launched. Therefore, even though I had tried it a few years before, I concluded that the $5 effort wasn’t worth it.

On Fiverr, what can you sell?

Services are the most popular product to offer on Fiverr. There are several categories, ranging from accounting services to blog writing to graphic design. These are their general categories, however they are constantly introducing new ones:

  • Design and graphics
  • Internet-Based Promotion
  • Composing and translating
  • Animation and video
  • Audio and music
  • Tech and programming
  • Industries for Business and Lifestyle

Thus, as you can see, Fiverr offers a wide variety of services and goods for sale.

How is Fiverr operated?

You would register for an account and create what is known as a “gig” in order to sell on Fiverr. In essence, your “gig” is an offer for your product or service. You fill in the gap on Fiverr by saying, “I will _______.” For instance, “I will create a blog post” or “I will create a logo for your company” are examples.

You essentially create little service packages for customers to purchase when you set up your concert. These possibilities include add-ons, delivery time (the amount of time it will take to finish the event), etc.

If it seems like something they could be interested in, individuals who are looking can discover your gig after it is published. You get an order and begin working on the job if they choose to purchase it.

A true countdown begins depending on your stated delivery time when your customer submits any information you need to get started after you receive your purchase. If you choose “one day,” the clock will begin to tick down from 24 hours, and it is your responsibility to deliver your purchase on schedule. As a near-professional procrastinator, this aspect may seem a bit daunting, but having that countdown really helps me finish the task and prioritize what has to be done first.

Benefits and drawbacks of Fiverr

Although I believe Fiverr is an excellent platform for selling your skills, like every marketplace, there are advantages and disadvantages to take into account.

Fiverr’s advantages

  • Customers are already there, therefore you don’t need to promote yourself if you don’t want to.
  • Numerous services that you are able to provide
  • You may increase sales per purchase by adding upsells or add-ons without having to follow up with customers to collect money.

Fiverr’s drawbacks

  • 20% of your money is taken by them, so if you charge $10, you receive $8.
  • Getting your gig discovered and receiving orders may be challenging.
  • Your payment may not settle for up to two weeks.
  • Since there is a timed component and delayed or canceled orders may have a negative impact on your account It can be a little annoying.

How much money is it possible to earn on Fiverr?

To be honest, there are a lot of variables that affect how much you may earn on Fiverr. However, if you do things correctly, you may earn a lot of money on Fiverr. After seeing a TikTok by Alex Fasulo, who was recently highlighted in Forbes for earning six figures on Fiverr, I really made the decision to give the platform another go. I followed some of her advice and started running!

I had no idea that I would make so much money so quickly when I chose to try Fiverr as an additional source of income before we moved out on the road as full-time Revers in May. On May 11th, 2020, I received my first purchase, and in less than 30 days, I had made over $1,000!

Even while $1,000 isn’t precisely enough to cover my monthly expenses, I honestly thought that because I was new to the site, it would take much longer to begin making a significant sum of money. A snapshot of my May and June profits may be seen here. Remember that I’m writing this on June 9th, 2020, therefore my profits for June will be much larger than those for May!

How to begin using Fiverr

After seeing evidence that you can earn a respectable side income or perhaps a full-time income, allow me to provide you some advice on how to get started.

What are you going to provide on Fiverr?

The first step is to decide what you want to sell on Fiverr. I began offering freelance writing services because I have been writing my own blogs for over ten years and know a lot about how to do it, not because I have a degree in anything relevant to it (fun fact: I dropped out of college).

Therefore, check through the many Fiverr categories, see what other people are giving, and determine what you have expertise with that others would be willing to pay you for.

Create a Fiverr account and complete your profile.

It goes without saying that you must register for Fiverr. After that, be sure to complete your profile and include a photo of your face. And sure enough, I did request a photo of your face. The most important piece of advice I believe Alex Fasulo gave me was to include a picture of yourself so that others can know who you are working with.

Advice for creating a strong Fiverr profile

  • A picture of your face
  • Complete it thoroughly.
  • Include a few details about yourself and your background.

Examine the profiles of those who are providing comparable services to the one you want to provide if you need some inspiration.

Creating your Fiverr jobs

Different seller tiers on Fiverr serve to highlight more seasoned dealers. You will initially be a basic seller, which entitles you to the following advantages:

  • Seven gigs are currently open.
  • Extra gigs ($5, $10, $20)
  • Five-Gig Multiples
  • Send personalized offers of up to $5,000.
  • Clearance earned: 14 days

I strongly advise generating at least a few jobs since Fiverr provides you seven active gigs. They may all be the same service, but the job may have a different image and a different title. This will increase the likelihood that people will notice your gigs, allowing you to determine which one works best for you and make the necessary adjustments.

For instance, I just intended to create blog entries for readers. But in order to increase my chances of receiving orders, I needed to have a lot of gigs up. I therefore had a number of gigs:

  • I’ll contribute to your blog.
  • I’ll produce a 500-word blog article for you in exactly one day, and it will be of excellent quality.

Not all of my gigs get a lot of orders, but one of them accounts for almost 95% of them. I’m sure this is because gigs that have more orders are boosted up in search results, which means more people will see them.

You must fill up a number of sections while putting up your jobs, including the title, tags, category, description, and more. It should go without saying, however I would want to discuss the concert picture and description with you.

How to create a gig description on Fiverr

Seeing how others are succeeding with their job descriptions is the greatest approach to create your own. This is not a call to imitate them. Don’t copy, please. To discover what is effective in persuading individuals to employ them, you may simply examine the kind of material they provide, the way they phrase it, etc.

Your gig picture

I would want you to utilize a picture of your face for your concert image. You want people to see who they’re working with, as I said in the profile section. Using a picture of your face, you may make a visually appealing graphic using Canva (they offer a free version).

How to increase the number of orders

It’s time to wait for your first order after setting up your Fiverr account and posting a number of jobs. The toughest thing is this. I was certain that no one would place an order with me, but I think I received mine in a few days. However, following that first one, I began to get some traction and received more and more; my best day was when I received seven orders in a single day.

Work cheaply (in the beginning)

The majority of customers will choose less expensive products, and employing a service is no exception. All of my engagements were priced at $10 for a 500-word blog article when I first began. The majority of individuals purchased the inexpensive $10 blog post, even if I charged a little more for lengthier postings. I tried raising my pricing to $15 to see if I would still get orders after receiving around a dozen orders at $10 and receiving several five-star reviews. I can now charge $20 to $25 for a 500-word blog article in 30 days. However, when I get more evaluations, I want to boost it even more.

Therefore, you may have to accept working for less money than you would want for a time if you want to be noticed and begin receiving orders and positive ratings on Fiverr.

Do excellent job.

The fact that I was paid $10 (really $8 after the Fiverr charge) did not imply that I completed my tasks quickly or poorly. Not at all. I made sure to offer something that satisfied my customers by taking my time, and guess what? Because they were so pleased with the value they received from my service, my first seven customers all returned and engaged me at least once more.

Deliver promptly.

There is such a thing as instant satisfaction. The individual who paid for the order is probably counting down the hours until you deliver it once you get it. The secret to impressing your clientele is to work fast. Try to choose a delivery window of three days or fewer when creating your gig. It would be great if you could choose one-day delivery. Why? Due to the ability to filter by delivery time, the majority of users will choose the quickest choices.

That concludes the fundamentals of earning money on Fiverr! Getting started and determining what works best for you is crucial.

As much as I have liked writing this guide on how to earn money on Fiverr, I hope you did too.
